Built in 1883 to connect the island of Manhattan with Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Bridge has been the inspiration for countless paintings and photographs. In 1983, Joel Greenberg received a grant to photograph the Brooklyn Bridge for its Centennial celebration that year.
